Take a trip to the seaside and meet a rather sinister ice cream man who has some very strange stories to tell... Hysterical horrors include, ‘Evil Seagulls’, ‘Zombie Donkeys’ and ‘Bingo Hairballs’. Stuffed with fun frights and ice cream chills, Seaside Terror is a celebration of the British horror and British holidays of the 1970s. Funny, nostalgic and visually stunning, Odd Doll use their trademark brew of puppetry, mask and specially composed music to fill the stage with nerve-shattering shocks.

You go into a hospital with a father and you come out with a bin bag, and no father.

haunted by the recent death of his father, celebrated actor Henry Chessel. In this UK

premiere, twice Edinburgh Fringe First winners Blind Summit tear up the rule book again and employ their trademark irreverent humour to present a masterclass in puppetry, dramaturgy and grief.

SATURDAY 14TH JULY

THE PARACHUTE / WATCH THE BALL

Stephen Mottram’s Animata (of Oxford)

Masonic Hall

Saturday 4pm, 7pm

Adults / Age 10+ (55 mins)

Tickets £12 / £10

The Parachute is a funny, mesmerising tale about youth, love and confronting old age. With little more than an armful of white tipped wands, this master-puppeteer conjures characters from nowhere, plays with the way our brains make sense of things we see and stealthily reels us into a world of movement and illusion.

Watch the Ball sends us scurrying down neural pathways old and new in a short, magical piece about the suspension of disbelief.

Stephen Mottram fuses artistry with neuroscience and demonstrates the magic of puppetry as a story-telling medium.

EXUVIA

t'Magisch Theaterje (of The Netherlands)

East Riding Theatre

Saturday 9pm

Adults / Age 15+ (55 mins)

Tickets £15 / £12

Exuvia is about the search for our inner possibilities and limitations. A beginning of the creation, bodies in space, a never ending space in which we are not the end of evolution. A search in today's increasingly materialistic society. A world in which we are barely conscious of belonging to a larger entity. In her performance without words, Charlotte will sweep the floor from under your feet, but will catch you once again and, just for a moment, she will make you part of a bigger universe.

RUSTY NAILS AND OTHER HEROES

TAMTAM objektentheater (of The Netherlands)

East Riding Theatre

Sunday 9pm

Adults / Age 7+ (70 mins)

Tickets £15 / £12

An award-winning cross-over between theatre, visual art and animation. A wordless poetic performance in which worthless found objects, picked up from street corners and rescued from the gutter change into actors. Two performers slide old cardboard under a camera and on a large screen a desert appears. A rusty saw plays the sea. Maple seeds become gentle birds and old working gloves, an endless swamp. Watch the movie as it is being created.
